SylWrap HD Pipe Repair Bandage
SylWrap HD Pipe Repair Bandage is a composite fibreglass wrap with a water-activated resin. When wrapped and smoothed around a pipe, it sets rock hard in minutes to form a WRAS approved, impact resistant outer sleeve which strengthens and protects pipework, extending the lifespan of systems.
The fast-working resin infused in SylWrap HD allows rapid repair of pipes and structures made from steel, stainless steel, iron, copper, PVC, GRP, clay, ceramic, concrete, lead and rubber. It can be applied around difficult elbow joints, tee joints and welds.
Applying SylWrap HD to pipelines improves pressure resistance, chemical resistance and hoop strength. Where a pipe has been weakened or damaged, SylWrap HD increases outer wall thickness to return the line to original specification.
It also reinforces repairs made with other Sylmasta leak repair products. Wrapping SylWrap HD over a sealing material such as Superfast Epoxy Putty or Wrap & Seal Pipe Burst Tape provides an additional layer over the initial sealant, offering a permanent solution.
SylWrap HD is temperature resistant to 250°C and has WRAS approval for use with drinking water. Water companies in the UK use it for reinforcing repairs to leaking pipes and burst water mains.
The high chemical resistance of SylWrap HD enables it to repair hydrogen, sulphuric acid and other pipelines in petrochemical plants and oil refineries. Other uses include desalination plants, wastewater treatment works, district heating and nuclear power stations.
SylWrap HD Pipe Repair Bandage Details
SylWrap HD is easy-to-use. Dipping the bandage in water activates the resin. The bandage is then wrapped around the pipe or structure requiring strengthening.
Further water is added to smooth SylWrap HD down as application continues. SylWrap HD has a work time of 2-5 minutes. A functional cure is achieved in 30 minutes and a full cure with maximum properties in 24 hours.

SylWrap HD can also be purchased as part of the Universal Pipe Repair Kit for fixing live leaks. The Kit includes a single bandage along with two sealing materials and is suitable for repairing all types of pipes.

SylWrap HD Pipe Repair Bandage Repair Calculator

Enter the diameter of the pipe to be repaired, the length of the damage area and the pressure resistance required.
The safety factor is a multiple to include a margin of safety. For example, if pipe pressure is 10 and you want a safety factor of two, then the calculator will formulate a repair capable of withstanding 20bar.
