Sylmasta AB Original Two-Part Epoxy Putty
Sylmasta AB Original is a versatile, two part epoxy putty which has numerous uses in repair, refurbishment and maintenance applications. It bonds to most substrates and comes with a two-hour work time, enabling larger quantities to be mixed at once and more careful application compared to fast-working epoxy putties.
AB Original is ceramic-filled, making it harder wearing and stronger than other putties. It bonds to metal, wood, brick, masonry, concrete, porcelain, ceramics, clay and most plastics.
It adheres to damp surfaces and underwater and makes interior or exterior repairs. AB Original has high chemical and corrosion resistance and can be used as a sacrificial layer in chemically aggressive environments.
The longer work time of AB Original allows more material to be mixed, shaped and applied without the threat of premature curing. Sylmasta recommend AB Original to clients undertaking complex applications or operating in hot climates because of its work time.
As part of the Sylmasta Pipe Refurbishment System, AB Original seals holes and cracks in pipes of almost all substrates. When applied to damaged or weakened areas, it restores the surface profile of pipelines by rebuilding wall thickness.
Away from pipe repair, AB Original acts as a damage filler, insulates electrical components, can be used to make prototypes and offers high-strength bonding between parts. Once cured, it can be tapped, drilled, screwed, sawed, machined, ground, filed, or painted.

AB Original is available in white, black and grey colours as standard. If you require a different or specific colour for applications such as brick or wood repair, please contact Sylmasta for information on customised AB Original.
It comes with the resin and hardener kept separate. Part A and Part B are measured out in even quantities by volume or weight and kneaded thoroughly by hand until turning a uniform colour to indicate successful mixing.
Whilst soft, the putty is pushed into holes and cracks in pipes, metalwork and other materials where it will cure, sealing and filling areas of damage. For bonding, you apply the putty and use it to attach the pieces requiring repair together.
The hand-kneadable consistency of AB Original eliminates drips and runs, facilitates adhesion to the substrate, and allows the material to be shaped. It achieves a full cure in 24 hours and is resistant to water, chemicals, and temperature extremes.
AB Original contains no solvents or VOC’s, is non-flammable and releases no noxious fumes. It will not shrink or pull away when setting. The unused portion stays fresh for future use when saved in its original package.
Pipe repairs made with AB Original can be overwrapped with a SylWrap Pipe Repair Bandage. SylWrap Bandage provides an impact-resistant, rock-hard layer of protection for a high-pressure repair.

Superfast Aqua Potable Water Epoxy Putty Stick
Specialist epoxy formulated for very high underwater and wet surface adhesion. It comes in an easy-to-use, pre-formatted 114g stick and has WRAS approval. It has a 5-minute work time and bonds to many different substrates in damp, wet, saltwater and freshwater conditions.
