Sylmasta AB Original Epoxy Putty Stick
AB Original Epoxy Putty Stick supplies Sylmasta’s super-strength universal repair putty in a combined pre-measured stick format rather than separate resin and hardener. With no need to measure out Part A and Part B components before mixing, AB Original Stick makes repairs quicker and easier.
Each Stick is 200g and contains resin on the outside and hardener in the middle. The user simply cuts off the required amount of putty from the Stick and kneads by hand before applying to the substrate being repaired or bonded.
AB Original is ceramic-filled, making it harder wearing and stronger than other epoxy putties. It has a working time of up to two hours, allowing for more of the material to be mixed, shaped and formed as needed before curing begins.
It bonds to metal, wood, brick, masonry, concrete, porcelain, ceramics, clay and most plastics. AB Original cures underwater and adheres well to wet surfaces. It is suitable in interior or exterior settings. Once cured, it can be tapped, drilled, screwed, sawed, machined, ground, filed, or painted.
As part of the Sylmasta Pipe Refurbishment System, AB Original seals holes and cracks in pipes of almost all substrates. When applied to damaged or weakened areas, it restores the surface profile of pipelines by rebuilding wall thickness.
Away from pipe repair, AB Original acts as a damage filler, insulates electrical components, can be used to make prototypes and offers high-strength bonding between different materials.
Sylmasta AB Original Epoxy Putty Stick Details
Three colours of AB Original Stick are currently available – white, black and grey. If you require a different or specific colour for applications such as brick or wood repair, please contact Sylmasta for information on customised AB Original.
To use an AB Original Stick, the amount of epoxy putty required is cut from the stick and kneaded by hand until it turns a uniform colour with no streaks.
Whilst soft, the putty is pushed into holes and cracks in pipes, metalwork and other materials where it will cure, sealing and filling areas of damage. For bonding, you apply the putty and use it to attach the pieces requiring repair together.
The hand-kneadable consistency of AB Original eliminates drips and runs, facilitates adhesion to the substrate, and allows the material to be shaped. It achieves a full cure in 24 hours and is resistant to water, chemicals, and temperature extremes.
AB Original contains no solvents or VOC’s, is non-flammable and releases no noxious fumes. It will not shrink or pull away when setting. The unused portion stays fresh for future use when saved in its original package.
Pipe repairs made with AB Original can be overwrapped with a SylWrap Pipe Repair Bandage. SylWrap Bandage provides an impact-resistant, rock-hard layer of protection for a high-pressure repair.
