SylWrap Standard Pipe Repair Kit
The SylWrap Standard Pipe Repair Kit permanently seals a burst or leaking pipe where pressure can be turned off in under 30 minutes. It enables any user to make a WRAS approved offline repair to steel, stainless steel, iron, copper, PVC, GRP, clay, ceramic, concrete and rubber pipes by following a simple two-stage process.
Fixing a leaking pipe with a Standard Kit costs a fraction of replacement. It eliminates the expense of hiring a plumber or contractor and the potential wait for availability to make a repair. Systems can go back into operation sooner, reducing downtime.
Repairs made using the Standard Kit are pressure resistant to 30 bar, temperature resistant to 120ºC and effective on pipes carrying hot and cold water and chemicals. WRAS approval means the Standard Kit is certified as safe to use on pipes carrying drinking water.
Effective repairs can be made around difficult elbow joints, tee joints and welded joints, offering a more flexible and versatile option compared to heavy, bulky pipe repair clamps.
No operational training is required to use the Standard Kit. It makes repairs varying from small-scale leaks in domestic kitchen and bathroom plumbing to sealing hydrogen lines in North American power stations.
Other industries where Standard Kits are found include quarries, mines, wastewater treatment, district heating, agriculture, petrochemical plants, oil rigs, nuclear power, freight ships, super yachts and within public buildings including hospitals, hotels and airports.
SylWrap Standard Pipe Repair Kit details
The Standard Kit contains Superfast Epoxy Putty Stick and a SylWrap Pipe Repair Bandage. Superfast Epoxy Putty is kneaded by hand until it turns a uniform colour. It is then pushed into the hole or crack requiring repair.
Within 5-10 minutes, the putty will harden inside the hole or crack. It forms a watertight material as hard as steel, sealing the leak with pressure resistance to 30 bar.
The second stage of the repair sees the putty overwrapped with SylWrap Pipe Repair Bandage. SylWrap is a composite repair wrap with a water-activated resin. When wrapped and smoothed around pipework, it sets to provide a rock-hard, impact resistant protective shell.
