SylWrap Drain & Waste Pipe Repair Kit
The SylWrap Drain & Waste Pipe Repair Kit is a specialist kit for making multiple permanent repairs to cracked cast iron and split plastic pipework. It has been designed for facilities management teams, drain repair companies and other end-users who are frequently required to seal waste, drain and soil pipes in public, commercial and residential buildings.
It contains enough products to make up to four repairs, all stored in a robust red case which is easily kept on-site or on the van. As soon as a crack is identified, the user simply reaches for their Drain & Waste Pipe Repair Kit, where they will find everything needed to make an instant repair.
The rapid response provided by the Drain & Waste Pipe Repair Kit minimises disruption in facilities where cast iron and plastic pipework is widespread, such as hospitals, office blocks, commercial buildings, leisure centres and car parks.
Repairs can be made in under 30 minutes to pipe diameters between 32mm and 150mm, corresponding to standard cast iron pipework sizes. Different Kits cover different diameters, offering users flexibility to fix a range of pipe sizes.
The Drain & Waste Pipe Repair Kit will seal leaks on difficult elbows, tees and welds, offering a flexible alternative to heavy, bulky repair clamps. It is also effective where water is leaking through, such as a drainpipe stack whilst it is raining.
No operational training is required to use any of the products in the Drain & Waste Pipe Repair Kit. The user simply follows the instructions provided to make a quick and easy repair.
SylWrap Drain & Waste Pipe Repair Kit details
Each Drain & Waste Pipe Repair Kit contains Superfast Steel Epoxy Putty, CrackSeal Sealant, SplitFill Epoxy Adhesive, Wrap & Seal Pipe Burst Tapes and SylWrap Pipe Repair Bandages.
Superfast Steel is used to seal the small holes and cracks. The required amount of putty is mixed by hand until it turns a uniform colour.
It is then pushed into the hole or crack, where it will harden in around 5-10 minutes to fill the damage with a watertight material.
CrackSeal Sealant seals longer cracks and splits in cast iron pipework. Using a standard sealant applicator gun (not provided as part of the Kit), it is extruded directly into the crack until fully filled. CrackSeal sets almost instantly, even on wet surfaces.
SplitFill Epoxy is used on cracks and longitudinal splits in plastic pipework. The adhesive is mixed and spread over the split and surrounding area with a spatula. It will enter the split and cure in 5 minutes, forming a permanent gap filler.
Wrap & Seal repairs pipework where a significant amount of water is leaking through. The self-amalgamating waterproof tape stretches by 300%, fusing to form a solid rubber band providing pressure over the crack.
Once the crack has been sealed, the repair is completed by overwarpping with SylWrap Pipe Repair Bandage. SylWrap is a fibreglass repair wrap with a water-activated resin.
When wrapped and smoothed over the pipe, it will set rock-hard to provide an impact resistant, protective layer over the initial sealant for a permanent, reinforced repair.

The Drain & Waste Pipe Repair Kit comes with white SylWrap Bandages as standard. Black SylWrap can be supplied upon request to make repairs appear more uniform with black pipework. Please contact Sylmasta for more information.
