Flex Sealant Black
Flex Sealant Black is an engineering grade sealant which cures quickly to provide a permanently flexible, high strength, waterproof seal and adhesive.
It is specifically designed for engineering, automotive and glazing applications. Its high strength makes it an excellent flexible sealant and gap filling adhesive.
Flex Sealant Black is a good all-round gasket sealant. It is ideal for overcoming problems associated with pressed steel covers such as sump pans that twist whilst tightening.
It does not crack or shrink. It provides high-strength bonding to metal, wood, glass, GRP, UPVC, brick and plastics.
Flex Black seals against oils and most chemicals and is temperature resistant to 260°C. For a Flex which is translucent rather than black, please see Flex Clear.

Flex Sealant Black Details
Flex Black comes in a cartridge which is applied using a specialist 300ml Pneumatic Cartridge Applicator. Please contact Sylmasta for more information on this product.
All surfaces must be clean, dry and free from dust or traces of contamination which have affect adhesion.
Once a seal backing material has been put in place (closed cell polyethylene foam with surface skin or open cell polyurethane foam), Flex should be applied ensuring that the seal is completely filled and all air pockets or voids are eliminated.
Tool the seal to ensure good contact between the sealant and the bonded surfaces. This should be carried out using a dry spatula before the surface skin is formed.
Areas soiled with fresh sealant may be cleaned with a dry pad or a pad soaked in a solvent (compatible with the substrate). Any cured sealant can be removed by scraping (e.g. using a razor blade).
