Our composite pipe repair production facility and epoxy stick manufacturing technology makes us the only company in Europe currently making its own composite wraps and putty sticks, rather than relying on imports from China or North America.

It also enables us to provide quick turnaround and custom formulations based on specific client needs – ranging from application-led requirements like cure speeds, high temperature and wet surface to aesthetic issues like colour.

Who Sylmasta work with

Sylmasta supply the SylWrap Pipe Repair range to water companies in the United Kingdom to carry out live leak repairs on the public water network. SylWrap is also approved for use on water networks in Canada, Malaysia, Mexico and other countries.

In industry, SylWrap repairs and refurbishes pipes in wastewater treatment works, oil refineries, quarry wash plants, petrochemical plants, power stations, breweries, super yachts and freight ships. Anywhere pipework is present, SylWrap is used.

Sylmasta epoxy pastes and coatings are used to rebuild and protect machinery and parts. They are used worldwide in mines, quarries, mills, food production and other industries where corrosion, chemical attack, abrasion, wear and impact damage can shorten the lifespan of equipment.

As well as infrastructure operators, utility suppliers, multinational corporations and government departments, Sylmasta are also committed to providing repair solutions and technical support to small businesses and individuals.

Accreditation and Standards

Most products in the SylWrap range manufactured by Sylmasta have been independently tested to the requirements laid down by BS 6920 and have achieved WRAS Approval, meaning they are certified as safe to use on pipes and fittings carrying drinking water.

They also conform to Regulation 31 of The Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulations, Small Surface Area Contact Ratio Product Types – Section 4(b).

Repairs made using Industrial Metal Epoxy Paste and SylWrap HD Pipe Repair Bandage meet the standard of ASME PCC-2 401 and 402 – Non-Metallic Composite Repair Systems, including Appendix 401-III – Short Term Spool Survival.
